This is our resident Anna’s Hummingbird, a beautiful but very aggressive and not a bit afraid of me. I was checking out a new but old Takumar 100/4 macro lens. I also caught a few other macro shots on my walk-about.

Walked around a garden maintained by WSU Master Gardner Program directly after a rain. The sun was going in and out from the trees surrounding the garden making for some colorful images. This is from my back-up camera while my main camera is in the shop, not bad for an old 6 meg camera.

Day Trip to Seattle

Decided to try and catch a sunrise on Mt. Rainier while using Seattle as the foreground. Also, did a quick walkabout on a beautiful spring day.
This is actually a time-lapse shot, I have to string together and make a short film.

Today was a field trip with the photo club to the beach. The tide was at a -2.7 which is really exposes a lot of the beach. These images were captured at Indianola, WA.

Macro Morning

Went out this morning to the Master Gardener’s Children’s Park and got a few of these shots. One of our Professional’s in our local photo club gave an excellent lecture on Macro Photography, I had to go and try some of his tips and recommendations. Not near his quality, but practice makes perfect.
Placed a black background to enhance the colors. Still a little dark but not too bad. This is an Umbrella Plant.

Nice color in the middle…very alluring.

A little out of focus but it looks like a painting.

I really like this one, I’m sure this will gross a few people out.

I think this looks like a candle with a wick and purple flames. Also, a glow from the base.

This is a continuation from the Tulip for Days along with a shot of the Olympic Mountains from Bremerton, WA.
This shot taken right after sunrise, cloud cover made for dramatic sky’s. Mt Vernon, WA

This shot taken just before sunrise. I was actually up to shoot the Lyrid Meteor Shower but slept a little too long and captured the mountains instead…not a bad trade off.

Tulips for days

I thought I’ve seen a lot of Tulips in my days until I went in the Mt. Vernon area north of Seattle. A nice fertile valley perfect for growth. They have an annual Tulip festival which is very popular. Caught these right after sunrise hoping to catch some nice sun, instead we got some cloud cover which gave a nice filtered light.
