Bee-utiful Day
Had to try my new back-up camera along with an old 50/1.2 lens recently purchased. Its a little tough to focus but the bokeh is rather nice. Practice makes perfect. The macro shots were shot with SMC-D FA 100/2.8 macro. This is a 1:1 ratio focused with a focus slide attachment.
Some type of weird caterpillar.
Same shot as above, a filter applied through Lightroom 4.
Do you use additional lighting (reflectors) for the macros?
No additional lighting used. I did have a reflector on-hand but more often than not, I forget to use it. The bee was a little lethargic due to the colder than normal temperature, my timing was good as the bee slowly circumvented the flower.
