Memorial, 9/11 Dedication, Bremerton, WA

20130911-IMGP9301The New York/New Jersey Port Authority and the Families of the 9/11Organization awarded Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue two steel beams, recovered from the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, to be used in a national memorial program. The centerpiece includes two twisted steel beams found at ground zero that have been treated so the public can touch them. Also included in the memorial is a hunk of limestone from the damaged Pentagon and sand found at the crash site in Shanksville, Pa.20130911-IMGP9405Veterans honoring the memorial.
